Why we dedicate our children to The Lord
We believe, when we dedicate our children to God we are declaring a heavenly hedge of protection over their life. As they continue to grow older, they will be set apart and be taught in the ways of the Lord. We know once a child has been taught in the ways of God, the seed will be planted, and they will always have the guidance of God as a firm foundation in their life.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
Then it was time for their purification offering, as required by the law of Moses after the birth of a child; so His parents took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord.

Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

PREPARATION FOR CHILD DEDICATION
1. How old does my child need to be in order to be dedicated?
There is no set age requirement for child dedication. The average age for a child to be dedicated is between 1-11 months although many other parents may dedicate their children at an older age.
2. What clothing will I need?
We ask that any person that is participating in the child dedication respect and honor the altar by dressing appropriately and modestly.
3. Should I bring anything else?
We highly recommend you bring an extra change of clothes for your child in the case they have an accident they have a back up outfit ready to go.
4.What time should I prepare for child dedications to begin?
Be ready, and inside the sanctuary to dedicate your child by 11:30am.
5. Where should I go once we're ready?
All those who are dedicating their children will be called up. Once the call has been made you may proceed towards the south side of the altar area forming a line.
6. What to expect during child dedication?
The day of your child’s dedication, you and your child will stand before the church and dedicate your child to the Lord in prayer. You will commit to lead your child in the ways of the Lord, and our Pastors will pray a blessing over your child.
7. What happens after?
Congratulations, you have made a commitment to lead your child in the ways of the Lord, and your child has been dedicating to God. Following, the dedication you will receive a certificate from the church stating your child has been dedicated to the Lord.

Dedicating your child to the Lord is a commitment that you as a parent do before the church, your family, and most importantly before God. In dedicating your child, you openly confess to partner with God to raise your child in the ways of the Lord. Part of your commitment is to say yes to praying for your child, declaring the word of God, declaring the promises of God over their life, bringing your child to church, teaching them God’s ways in all aspects of their life.
We acknowledge that by participating in the child dedication ceremony, we are making a commitment to raise our child in accordance with the beliefs and values of our faith community. We commit to nurturing their spiritual, emotional, and moral development to the best of our abilities.
By participating in this ceremony, we acknowledge the following:
Safety Precautions: We understand that every reasonable effort will be made to ensure our safety during the ceremony. However, we acknowledge that there are inherent risks associated during the dedication, and we agree to take full responsibility for our own safety.
Photography and Media: We consent to the taking of photographs, videos, or other media recordings during the child dedication. We understand that these recordings may be used for promotional or informational purposes by True Vine Church.
Confidentiality: We understand that any personal information provided by us in connection with the child dedication will be treated confidentially and used only for the purpose of organizing and conducting the child dedication.
